A vermillion flower bloomed in the night sky accompanied by a brilliant flash of light. Far below the crimson display on the deck of a small corsair ship a brown elnin bedecked in a pirates raiment cackled wildly and pranced between the boxes of fireworks populating the bow of the vessel.
From the distant shore cheers of delight could be heard after each colorful explosion lit the night sky. At this the elnin's chest visibly swelled with pride and he swaggered to the next rocket. Twirling his long-stemmed pipe between his lips he lit the fuse of the firework with a flourish; clearly it was a practiced motion the elnin had made thousands if not millions of times before.
From the elnin's paws (safe distances be damned!) the fire of lit fuse raced up into the body of the firework and in a shower of sparks it rose high into the starlit sky before becoming a brilliant turquoise shower of incandescence.
