Naruto Character - Ren

Well, at long last, here’s my Naruto OC, Ren. I first designed her around the same time as Val, and she hasn’t changed much. Her outfit is basically the same, but the leg bandages and the pouch for Joey are new.

I did base parts of Ren on myself. One example is her leg bandage. Two years ago I broke my foot really bad and had to use crutches for a month, it sucked (word to the wise, don’t break your foot) I also have knee problems, so that’s why the wrap is on her knee.

Name: Ren Yamizuki

Ren Yamizuki was born in the Village hidden in the Mist, but she and her family left for Konoha when she was three, for this reason, she has very strong water chakra. Her parents, grandmother, baby brother, and herself all fled to Konoha because they knew they were in danger in the Land of Mist due to their bloodline trait, their kekkei genkai. Their clan’s ability is rooted deeply in the world of the spirits. They can sense otherworldly presences, send spirits back where they belong, and, on occasion, talk to the dead. But the Yamizuki Clan’s true power lies in their innate ability to summon spirit creatures. These creatures can either take shape within the users aura (like Kyubi with Naruto), or manifest itself physically, so long as the bond between the creature and the summoner is strong.
In Konoha, Ren rapidly became the top of her class in the Academy and was considered second only to the genius, Kakashi Hatake, who was a year her senior. Even at a young age, Ren was strangely drawn to Kakashi. At first he wasn’t interested in her company, but after she hung around him and just spoke her mind, he got used to her presence. After some time, Ren even met Kakashi’s father, Sakumo, and they took an instant liking to one another. To this day, Ren is one of the few who never spoke ill of Sakumo for his conduct or his death. She always looked up to him. Because of this, Ren was one of the few who helped Kakashi out when his dad died. He returned the favor when Ren’s little brother, Ayumu died when he tried to summon a spirit creature far stronger than himself.
On very rare occasions, a particularly strong member of the Yamizuki Clan will obtain a permanent spirit creature, or a familiar. That creature and master will form an incredibly strong bond that will allow them to share one another’s strength, and even share minds if need be. This pair will also develop a unique set of jutsu that only they can use, which are often seen as kekkei genkai within themselves.
Such was the case with Ren. When she was seven, a brush fire broke out in the woods surrounding Konoha, and the entire Village scrambled to put it out. Ren, seeing no other way to help, tried to summon a kelpie, or a weak water spirit. Rather than a water spirit, though, she summoned a massive spider who had lava coursing in its veins. The spider told Ren that he had been waiting for her call, and was ready to do as she wished. Ren, climbing onto its back (it was roughly ten feet tall) instructed him to help put out the fire in any way possible. After the ordeal was over, the spider shrunk to the size of a cat and explained that he was Ren’s familiar, after which she christened him Joey. They’re always together now and Ren grew to care about Joey in a more motherly way, rather than a master.
After becoming a genin at age ten, Ren continued to soar through the ranks, reaching chunin level at age 11, and the achieving jonin rank at age 15. All through her career as a ninja she obtained considerale help and companionship from Kakashi. It was thanks to him that she was recommended for the ANBU, and was inducted into its ranks when she was 17.
After years of serving in ANBU, however, Ren sustained a bad wound to her right leg. While the wound itself healed, her leg was never as flexible again, especially in the knee. For this reason she wraps her leg in bandages and wears an extra support brace on her knee in order to counteract this.
Wen Ren was 25, she decided to take a break from ANBU for a while and become an instructor for a genin cell. This was how she met her students, Val Shaban, Cadan Chouki, and Ikusei Satoki. She has been training them ever since.
Other important notes:
Ren is moderately hearing impaired in her right ear (don’t try and whisper in it). She can feel sound in this ear, though, and that has allowed her to be an excellent tracker.

Joey can shift sizes at will. His size ranges from ten feet tall to the size of a fingernail. He can talk and can also maintain a humanoid form (he has four arms). If he changes to humanoid from a small spider, he looks to be about 9. But if he changes to humanoid form as a large spider, he looks to be about 18. He prefers the younger look. Physically, as a spider Joey is dark brown with blue eyes and lava at the joints. As a humanoid he had lava-red hair and blue eyes.

Ren has been known to create odd jutsus, such as a summoning jutsu for duct tape, which she has used.

Her nicknames include: Lotus Dancer and Black Widow

Jutsus Ren uses with Joey include:
Eight-legged Lava – allows Ren to transform into a minuscule spider for a set amount of time (great for intelligence gathering)
Arahnid – allows Ren’s shoulders and hips to dislocate and reconnect to make her look like a spider. Her nails become claws and her palms secrete lava. In this form Ren can walk on virtually any surface. It also requires no chakra to use.

Ren can freely manipulate lava threads from Joey. She can also use her own. These threads are extremely hot, but will only burn if she or Joey commands it.
When Ren and Joey’s minds merge, Joey crawls onto Ren’s back and grows to te size of a rottweiler. Their eyes burn red and their voices merge into something deep and otherworldly.

Ren’s brother, Ayumu died when she was 8. Ayumu was six. Her parents died in the ast ninja war (kakashi gaiden), and her only surviving family is Joey and her Grandmother, who is a village elder.

Ren is one year younger than Kakashi, but she got her students two years before he did, sine her test was easier to pass. She teases Kakashi about that fact to this day.

Ren’s mainly uses her fans and Joey in battle, but her summons include a huge snake (roughly the size of Orichimaru’s), a Leviathan (sea dragon), and a huge white wolf (roughly the size of Kyubi or Gamabunta). She can use countless others, but these are her special ones. Joey is easiest to manage (he’s her familiar, afterall), but the wolf os the overall strongest and requires the most chakra to summon.

Personality-
She is for the most part a controlled individual who likes to keep her emotions in check. Ren is a quick-thinker both on and off the battlefield and sometimes is too quick to take action and later regrets it. She gets bored easily, especially if she isn’t interested in what is happening. She is extremely loyal to her loved ones and expects the same from them. Her loyalty also lies with the Hokage. She is caring and sensitive. She also has a latent elegance, due to her ethereal upbringing (learning how to talk to the dead and all). Mostly, her elegance and grace just comes out in battle. Ren is quite vicious in battle and admits to having battle-lust, but she more or less knows how to control it. She can be very playful and perky around her friends, even flirty in some cases and with both genders (she’s bi) She loves a good time, but also enjoys the serenity of a babbling brook or laying under the sky. Even though she’ll follow orders to the letter, she has little regard for rules, which has landed her in lots of trouble over time. She’ll always listen to what others have to say and tries to be optimistic ans sarcastic at the same time. Ren lives by her own saying: “Find the world in a grain of sand.” Basically, she tries her best to cherish the little things. Ren also knows how to get things out of people. If she senses that something is wrong with someone, she’ll go through hell to get it out of them, either by asking or by pestering. She is skilled at being insufferable and loveable at the same time.
